On the day

The ceremony will start at 2pm so please be at Geiteberg Kulturbruk (here) by 1-1.30pm.
There will be some food after the ceremony, but you won’t be getting a proper meal until 5.30-6pm, so make sure to have an early lunch if you don’t want the bubbles to go straight to your head (or alternatively don’t eat anything if you do want the bubbles to go straight to your head)

Buses to and from the venue

For those of you taking the bus, they will leave from the Opera House at 12:15, right in the centre of town by the Oslo fjord

For the buses back to Oslo, we will have one bus leaving at 00-00:30, and two buses leaving at 2am. If you think you’ll want to leave on the earlier bus, please let us know so we can keep a track of numbers. If you want a seat on the bus but haven’t told us yet, please let us know by the end of August

Two very generous friends have stepped up to help with the organisation on the day. So if you are running late or can’t find the location, please contact either
Andreas Kouloumas (+44 7825 771 488)
or Hanne Skuggen (+47 467 66 701).

Travel options if you aren’t getting the bus

  • 1. Cheaper minibuses – Håvard, who is organising the buses, also has two minibuses (one 17 seater and one 22 seater) which would be significantly cheaper than a local taxi. If you are travelling in a group and want to stay outside of the city this might be a good option, both for getting to and from the airport and on the day itself. You can contact him directly on +4790046922 or h.haugan@online.no
  • 2. There are two local taxi companies near Geiteberg, although they will cost an arm and a leg….
    1. Ski Follo taxi – +4764856880
    2. Ski taxi – https://skitaxi.no/en/home/; +4764911500
Rough estimate for a 20 minute journey there and back is £130 for a 4-seater and £280 for a 16-seater.
We haven’t tested it, but doubt that Uber or Bolt would be an option out in the sticks…
